LET THE SEASON BEGIN

It's hard to believe that Memorial Day is only a weekend away. We really made it through another winter and the proof is in the budding! Our town is finally green. As the seasons have transitioned, so has J.HORTON. This coming weekend marks my 3rd summer in Madison. I've grown accustomed to the traditions of the shoreline activities and events. Excited for the antique shows, plant sales, gardening, strawberry festivals, fireworks, charity events, sidewalk sales, concerts on the greens, lazy beach days, barbecues, graduations, proms, shad roe, gallery openings, long hot days, and those celebratory sunsets! Let the season begin!

on the hunt

A destination for decorators and customers in search of uniquely crafted and curated items from local and international designers, everything at J.Horton reflects the owner, Joan Horton’s uniquely sophisticated and well-honed personal aesthetic.

Joan Horton’s newest venture at 14 Wall Street has evolved from her love of sourcing, collaborating with and showcasing talented designers who are on the leading edge of style.

Raised to express her own innate taste, spirit and creativity, Joan has traveled extensively, and lived throughout Europe, developing a deep appreciation for a range of lifestyles, designs and cultures. As a result, Joan is a trendsetter, always on the lookout for groundbreaking concepts and products.

So why Madison? This sleepy beach town two hours from Manhattan is filled with art, music and theater, along with sailing, hiking, sports and farmers markets that delight the senses.

Moving back to Connecticut after many years in NYC, Joan opened her store in a community she believes is primed to become a destination for adventurous and creative people like herself, who love natural beauty, walking on empty beaches and discovering the extraordinary
